New Delhi/Maharashtra, 28th February 2026: Amid rising regional tensions in parts of the Middle East and neighbouring regions after the US and Israel attacked Iran, followed by retaliation from Iran, the Government of India has issued a security advisory for Indian nationals residing in several countries, urging heightened caution and strict adherence to local and embassy guidelines.

According to official communication, Indian embassies and representative offices in Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates have advised Indian citizens to remain vigilant, avoid non-essential movement, and closely follow instructions issued by local authorities and Indian missions.

The advisory comes in the backdrop of a volatile security environment in parts of the region. Indian missions are monitoring developments on a continuous basis and issuing updates as required. Citizens have been asked to stay connected with their respective embassies and use official communication channels for verified information.

The Maharashtra government has also appealed to Maharashtrian citizens living abroad to maintain calm and restraint, comply with official advisories, and immediately contact Indian embassies in case of any emergency. The state government said it is closely tracking the situation in coordination with the Union government and Indian diplomatic missions to ensure the safety of its citizens overseas.

Indian nationals have been urged to keep emergency contact details handy and reach out to embassy helplines, which are operational 24×7.
