Women, comprising 27.5% of developers worldwide, are making significant strides in a field traditionally dominated by men. Notably, 33% of women cite personal curiosity and interest as the primary driver of their development work, compared to 22% of men.

Experience-wise, a significant portion of developers, approximately 26.53%, falls into the 5 to 9 years of coding experience category. The second-largest group, at 23.3%, consists of individuals with 1-4 years of experience, followed by those with 10-14 years of experience at 18.07%.

Education also plays a crucial role in the development community, with 68.6% of software developers holding a bachelor’s degree or higher. This emphasis on education underscores the importance of formal training in nurturing tech talent.

Approximately 6 million developers worldwide are immersed in the realm of Big Data and advanced analytics. Moreover, there are 300,000 highly-trained AI specialists worldwide, further highlighting the significance of artificial intelligence in the modern tech landscape. Additionally, 2 million developers are dedicated to crafting IoT applications, while 4 million, which is 26% of the developer community, rely on cloud-based development environments.
