India needs new ideology and old ideals : Bhagat Singh Koshyari

Mumbai, 7/01/2020 : Discipline is must in the colleges and universities. Autonomous colleges and universities can give their thoughtful suggestions for the new scheme implementation for this purpose. New India needs new ideology but old ideals, said Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari today.

A two-days workshop on ‘Autonomous Colleges in India’: The Road Ahead is organised at Century Bhavan, Worli jointly by B.K. Birla College (Autonomous) Kalyan and Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla. The Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari inaugurated the workshop. He spoke at the event.

The Governor Koshyari said, our educational progress creates real intelligence. Swami Vivekananda has said, “Education is the manifestation of perfection already in men.” We should retrospect if we are really able to make this thought come true. Qualitative human resource is needed in the progress of the country. Good ideology and human resources with a good perception should be created from autonomous education institutes. Students should be shaped and changes in the education system should be brought through creative thinking and with the help of such autonomous educational institutes.

We should try and see to it that students are imbibed with ideal culture through the medium of autonomous institutes. So our future generations would be the ideal one. It will be ideal for the whole country, expressed the Governor.

President of B.K. Birla College (autonomous) and B.K. Birla Public School Governing Council O.R. Chitlange, Director of Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla Prof. Makarand Paranjape, B.K.B.C. Director Dr. Narendra Chandra, Vice- Chancellor of Mumbai University Suhas Pednekar and professors and principal of other autonomous colleges were present at the event.
