Rajkot, 19th February 2024: England was bundled out for a mere 122 runs in their final innings, with Jadeja claiming five crucial wickets. The standout performance came from Yashasvi Jaiswal, whose stormy double century propelled India towards dominance.

From Rohit Sharma’s astute captaincy to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s sublime batting display, every member of the team played a pivotal role in dismantling England’s BAZZBALL approach. Particularly noteworthy was local hero Jadeja, who not only notched up a century in the first innings but also clinched five wickets in the second, rightfully earning himself the Player of the Match accolade.

This victory marked a significant milestone for Team India, securing their largest winning margin by runs. Their previous record was a 372-run triumph over New Zealand at Mumbai’s Wankhede ground in 2021.

In the second innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s monumental 214-run innings and Shubman Gill’s gritty 91 provided the backbone of India’s imposing total. Rohit Sharma’s 131 in the first innings and Ravindra Jadeja’s crucial 112 further bolstered India’s commanding position, while Sarfaraz Khan showcased consistency with fifties in both innings. Mohammad Siraj’s bowling prowess was evident as he claimed four wickets.

England’s resistance was led by Ben Duckett, who scored a commendable 153 runs in the first innings. However, apart from him, no other player managed to cross the fifty-run mark in both innings. India posted 445 runs in their first innings, with England replying with 319 runs at the Niranjan Shah Stadium. India declared their second innings at 430, setting an insurmountable target for England.
