INDIAN ARMY WINS  5TH ARMY INTERNATIONAL SCOUT MASTERS COMPETITION 2019

Jaisalmer (Rajasthan), India, August 15, 2019 : The Indian Army team has comprehensively won the 5th Army International Scout Masters Competition held at Jaisalmer Military Station from 06 to 14 August 2019. A total of eight teams from Armenia, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, India, Russia, Sudan and Uzbekistan participated in the competition.

The Indian Army participated in the competition for the first time. The team trained hard for the last 10 months in extreme weather and desert conditions of Thar Desert. The Indian Army Team was selected and trained under the aegis of Southern Command. The smooth and efficient conduct of the event drew applause from all the participating teams and international panel of Judges including the co-host, Russia.

World class infrastructure was created at Jaisalmer Military Station to conduct this prestigious event. A challenging obstacle course for Infantry Combat Vehicles was created over a distance of 6.7 kilometer with 15 obstacles. Another tough obstacle course for the Scout Masters teams was created having 22 obstacles over a distance of 1.3 Kilometer.

Honorable Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will be the Chief Guest, on 16 August 2019 at the Closing Ceremony in Jaisalmer, which will be attended by General Bipin Rawat, Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, Aide-de-Camp, Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General SK Saini, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Yudh Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, Army Commander, Southern Command, officials from participating nations and members of the International Organising Committee.
