Indian Ministry of Defence signs Rs 9,100 crore contracts for Akash Weapon System and Swathi Radars

Delhi, 31st March 2023: The Ministry of Defence has recently signed contracts worth over Rs 9,100 crore for the Indian Army’s procurement of improved Akash Weapon System and 12 Weapon Locating Radars, WLR Swathi (Plains). The announcement was made via a tweet from the Office of Raksha Mantri on March 30, 2023.

In response to the tweet, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction and said that the move would not only boost self-reliance but would also benefit the MSME sector. The deal is expected to provide a significant boost to India’s defence capabilities and promote indigenous manufacturing.
