India’s biggest 1-day jump: Over 45,000 new COVID cases, 1,129 deaths reported

New Delhi, 23 July 2020: India reported the highest one-day spike of 45,720 coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases and 1,129 deaths this morning, government data shows.

So far, 12,38,635 cases have been reported in India. Of these, 4,26,167 are active cases. 7,82,606 people have recovered and 29,861 people died. 63.18 percent patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals, stated statistics from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to the latest data released by the ministry, 45,720 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, while 1,129 people have died. This is the highest number of cases in one day.

 

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that there have been 3,50,823 sample tests in the last 24 hours. Till now, 1,50,75,369 sample tests have been conducted in the country.

 

Maharashtra is the most affected state by Coronavirus. There are 3,37,607 COVID positive patients in Maharashtra. Of these, 1,37,282 are active cases and 12556 people have died. Also, 1,87,769 people have recovered.

 

There have been 1,86,492 cases in Tamil Nadu. Of these, 51,765 are active cases while 1,31,583 people have recovered. 3144 people have died.

 

1,26,323 cases have been reported in Delhi so far. There are 14,954 active cases. 1,07,650 patients have recovered and 3719 people have died.
