Infosys Postpones Employee Assessments Indefinitely Amid Pressure from NITES and Terminated Employees

Bengaluru, 24th February 2025: Infosys has indefinitely postponed the next round of employee assessments, citing the need to “give employees more time to study.”
However, the decision has been met with skepticism, with the IT employees’ union NITES calling it a cover-up to avoid further controversy over recent mass terminations.
On February 7, Infosys abruptly terminated 700 employees without prior notice, severance pay, or alternative arrangements. The move sparked outrage, with affected employees and NITES (Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate) launching a strong campaign against the layoffs.
Advocate Harpreet Singh Saluja, President of NITES, criticized Infosys for its double standards, stating, “The company never gave such liberty to the 700 employees it forcefully terminated in a single day. Now, under pressure, Infosys is trying to deflect attention by delaying assessments. But this fight is far from over.”
NITES has vowed to continue its efforts to expose Infosys’ alleged unfair labor practices and push for IT employee rights. Saluja also urged the Karnataka government to intervene, stating that authorities must take responsibility rather than support corporate exploitation.
