Intellectual integration in the academic sector is the foundation of sustainable development – Dr. Vilas Adhav

Pune, 26th April 2025: The Department of Economics, Poona College, in collaboration with IQAC, organized an International Conference on “Innovative Strategies in Economics, Commerce, Finance and Management for a Sustainable and Global Future” on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Poona College, Camp, Pune.

The hybrid conference began with a sacred reading by Dr. Ahmed Shamshad. The welcome address and felicitation was delivered by Dr. Iqbal Sheikh, I/C Principal and Chairman of the conference.

All the distinguished guests released the summary book.

The theme of the conference was presented by Dr. Shahid Ansari, Secretary of the conference and HOD (Economics).

Smt. Fatima introduced the distinguished guest, Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhaav, Director, Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Dr. Adhav, in his keynote address, mainly emphasized on intellectual integrity and honesty which all academicians should maintain while interacting with the society.
He emphasized on moral values, especially honesty, which are very essential for collaboration in various aspects of life like finance, economics, commerce and management for sustainable development. He called for a more thoughtful approach based on moral values ​​and principles. He appreciated the efforts of the Poona College management in bringing eminent speakers to this common platform for thoughtful exchange of ideas.

He concluded his speech in a meaningful and poetic manner.

Then the conference coordinator Dr. Nargis Wani introduced the chief guests, who were introduced by Prof. Dr. Vijay Khare, Head of the Department of Defence and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Savitribai Phule Pune University.

Dr. Khare shared his thoughts on the international conference and encouraged mutual cooperation for future development.
