International flights will start on Friday. The service is being launched under ‘Air Bubble Agreement’ and will be the first flight to Sharjah (UAE). In the meantime, it remains to be seen how passengers will respond in the backdrop of rising COVID19 cases.

A ‘slot’ has been made available for Sharjah at the airport and its date and time have also been received. The flight from Pune to Sharjah will take off at around 7 pm on Friday. Since December, the administration has been trying to get approval by sending proposals at various levels.

The ‘Air Bubble’ agreement says, “Both countries agree with certain conditions that they have no objection to operating the airline even during the pandemic”.
