IPL 2023: Lucknow Beat Hyderabad By Five Wickets; Lucknow Tops Points Table By Their Second Win

Lucknow, 7th April 2023: In the 11th match of IPL 2023, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets at home at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, in Lucknow, for their second straight win. On the other hand, due to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s second defeat in a row, they still have to remain at the bottom of the points table.

 

Lucknow restricted Hyderabad, who batted first, to 121 runs. Lucknow Super Giants then chased down the challenge of 122 runs for victory in 15 overs at the cost of five batsmen. In this, KL Rahul contributed 35 while 34 runs were contributed by Krunal Pandya.

 

LSG’s bowlers did their best. Krunal Pandya took three wickets for 18 runs, while Amit Mishra took two wickets for 23 runs. Ravi Bishnoi spelled 4-0-16-1. Anmolpreet Singh (31) played well for SRH. Rahul Tripathi (34), Washington Sundar (16), and Abdul Samad (21*) played well.

 

In reply, KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers (13) put on a partnership of 35 runs. Deepak Hooda bounced back soon after, but Krunal eased the pressure on LSG with some fine shots while batting. Krunal (34) and KL Rahul shared a half-century partnership in 35 balls and was dismissed by dismissing Krunal on 34 runs (23 balls). Rahul scored 35 runs in 31 balls.

 

With this win, LSG has overtaken Gujarat Titans to take the top spot in the points table. Moreover, they have also won the top position in the Fair Play Award.
