Hyderabad, 13th May 2023: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) chased down Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) challenge of 183 runs in 19.2 overs at the cost of three batsmen at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad in the 57th match of the season.

For Lucknow, Prerak Mankad scored 64, Marcus Stoinis 40 and Nicholas Pooran contributed 44 off 13 balls.

With this win, Lucknow has once again entered the race of power play. They have now reached the fourth position in the points table with 13 points. They have a net run rate of +0.309 with two matches remaining. If Lucknow wins both their matches, they will have 17 points.

Chasing the 183 set by Hyderabad, Lucknow did not get off to a good start. Opener Kyle Mayers managed to score just two runs off 14 balls. He was dismissed in the fourth over. Another opener Quinton de Kock scored 29 off 19 balls but was dismissed by Markande to give Lucknow another blow in the 8th over.

But Lucknow was saved from these two setbacks by Prarak Mankad. He put on a 73-run partnership for the third wicket with Marcus Stoinis. This partnership took Lucknow to 127 runs in the 15th over. Abhishek Sharma dismissed Stoinis in the 16th over for his innings of 40 runs in 25-ball just as the pair looked to be going hard for Hyderabad.

Nicklas Pooran, who came in after Stoinis’ dismissal, started to attack aggressively, not giving Hyderabad another chance to get back into the match. His partner Mankad completed his half-century.

The duo brought the match to a close with 14 runs off 12 balls. Then Natarajan’s contribution of 10 runs in the 19th over left just four runs in the last over. Pooran completed these runs in the first two balls to give Lucknow an important win. Nicholas Pooran scored 44 runs off 13 balls. It included four sixes and three fours.

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad set a 183-run challenge for victory against Lucknow Super Giants. From Hyderabad, Henry Classen scored 47 runs and Abdul Samad scored an unbeaten 37 runs. Opener Anmolpreet also contributed 36 runs. Krunal Pandya took two wickets from Lucknow.
