IRS Officers To Get Training By India’s Top Intelligence Agencies

New Delhi,October 8,2020:India’s two major intelligence agencies The Research and Analysis Wing(RAW)and Intelligence Bureau( IB) are  currently imparting  intelligence training to  the officers from the Indian Revenue Services (IRS),reported Times of India.

RAW is responsible for the country’s external security and the IB for internal security.  Both the agencies, which are important for national security, are   training  Income Tax, Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and CBI officials.

 ‘Intelligence tradecraft’ is the technique and method of using technology to spy in a modern way.  A special nine-course module has been developed for IRS officers to specialize in intelligence gathering as well as handling digital and forensic evidence.

 Only Group A officers in the IRS are trained at RAW’s training center in Gurgaon and IB’s National Intelligence Center in Delhi.  During this training program, CEIB acts as the coordinator of the Union Ministry of Finance.
