ISRO Launches Free Certificate Course in Remote Sensing, GIS, and GNSS

Dehradun, 30th October 2023: The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), an arm of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), has unveiled an extraordinary opportunity for students, professionals, and job seekers looking to broaden their skill set. ISRO has introduced a free certificate course in Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System (GIS), and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), aiming to provide a platform for learning and skill enhancement.

This initiative by ISRO offers the certificate courses entirely free of charge. Prospective participants need only to register during the scheduled admission dates to enroll in the program. The application window for this certificate course has already commenced and will remain open until November 3, 2023. Upon completion of the application process, the course sessions are set to commence on November 6 and will run until the stipulated end date of November 17, 2023.

The course has a total of 10,000 available seats, including 5,000 seats designated for the private sector and an additional 25 seats specifically reserved for nodal center coordinators. The learning materials for the course will be easily accessible to registered candidates. ISRO will provide access to PDF lectures, recorded videos, open-source software demonstrations, and other related study materials.

Upon completion of at least 70 percent of the course sessions, ISRO will provide a certificate to the candidates. This certificate not only signifies the successful completion of the course but also equips participants with new insights and knowledge, offering potential professional advantages in various fields.
