Jewellery Worth Rs 11 Lakh Stolen During Baby Shower Ceremony in Pune

Pune, 10 May 2025: In a shocking incident, jewellery worth ₹10.8 lakh was stolen from a woman’s bag during a baby shower ceremony held in Pune’s Shivane area. The Uttamnagar Police have registered a case against unidentified individuals following a complaint lodged by the victim.
According to police, the complainant, a resident of Tardeo in Mumbai, had come to Pune to attend her niece’s baby shower function. The event was organized on April 20 at a banquet hall near Aryak Residency in the Shivne locality, where her sister resides.
After the conclusion of the ceremony, the woman went to her sister’s house nearby. It was only upon reaching there that she discovered that her bag, which contained gold jewellery valued at approximately ₹10.8 lakh, had been stolen.
The victim later returned to Mumbai and recently filed an official complaint with the Uttamnagar Police Station. Based on her statement, police have registered a case of theft under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Assistant Police Inspector Amruta Chavare is leading the investigation.
