Joint Ticketing Counter For Metro And Railway At Pune Railway Station Soon
Pune 17th August 2023: The officials of the Pune Metro and Railways are exploring option to set up a joint ticket window for Metro and Railway tickets at Pune Railway Station. A joint inspection by the officials of Pune Metro and Pune division of Central Railway is likely to happen soon after which the place to set up this window will be finalised.
According to officials the initiative will ease the movement of commuters who want to use both services during their journey. Presently the Railway booking window from DRM office side is located on the ground floor while the Metro ticket counter is located inside the Metro station.
Due to this, the passengers willing to travel by Railway after reaching railway station or those who want to take Metro after finishing their railway journey have to take long walk only to purchase tickets and often many of them get confused. The possibility of these passengers getting caught by Railway ticket Checkers is also another problem as those coming from Pune Metro and want to take their further journey by Railway have to take a long route by using railway premises to purchase ticket.
To solve this issue, Pune Metro and Railways are exploring options to set up a joint ticket counter wherein a passenger can purchase both tickets.
