Khadakwasla Dam Discharge Increased; Authorities Urge Caution

Pune, 15th September 2025: The Irrigation Department has announced an increase in water discharge from the Khadakwasla Dam into the Mutha river basin. As of 10 am today, the outflow from the dam’s spillway has been raised from 10,611 cusecs to 14,547 cusecs.

Officials have cautioned that the discharge levels may be further increased or reduced depending on rainfall intensity and prevailing weather conditions.

In addition, at 8 am today, a total of 2,088 cusecs of water was released from the Varasgaon Dam. This included 600 cusecs discharged through the spillway and 1,488 cusecs through the power generation plant.

The department has advised residents along the riverbank to remain alert as changes in dam discharge are subject to weather fluctuations.
