Khadki: 136 Out Of 228 Active COVID Cases Are Army Personnel And Their Family Members

Pune, 19 August 2020: With 14 new Coronavirus Disease (COVID19) cases today, the total tally of positive patients reached 989 in the Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) area. Out of 989, a total of 733 people have recovered while 28 have died.

According to KCB, there are still 228 active patients undergoing treatment. 34 of them are admitted to Khadki Cantonment Hospital, while others are admitted in different private hospitals in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. 42 patients in home isolation.

Out of 228 active cases, a total of 136 cases are admitted in Command Hospital and MH CTC. Civilians from Khadki are not admitted in these two hospitals. In the last few days, there has been a considerable rise in COVID cases among defence personnel in Khadki Cantonment area.

According to KCB officials, after a positive case is detected, the house/locality is declared as containment zone in civil area. However, the Army takes preventive measures in establishments under its control. The Ammunition Factory Khadki (AFK) areas where COVID cases are found are declared micro containment zone by the KCB after getting request from the AFK.
