Khadki, September 18, 2020:The Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) yesterday vacated a stall (wooden cabin) which was allotted to a handicapped person but it was in illegal occupation of another person, who is Group D employee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

The stall was located near Agarwal Dharamshala near Ram Mandir in Khadki Bazaar. The action was taken in the presence of Khadki police station officials. Earlier the KCB had issued notice to Prabhakar Ashok Polkam who had illegally occupied the stall. He claimed to be a social activist but worked as a chowkidar with PMC.

“It was allotted to a physically handicapped person in 1982. However, it was found to be under illegal occupation of another person, Polkam. We had issued notice to him and after his unsatisfactory reply, we vacated the stall. He has also done encroachment on defence land. We are taking action against all such encroachments”, KCB CEO Pramod Kumar Singh told Punekar News.
