Kia Sonet Facelift Unveiled: Advanced Features and Enhanced Safety

14th January 2024: Kia Motors recently unveiled the facelifted version of its new-generation Sonet in the Indian market, and the company has now disclosed the comprehensive pricing details. With this latest update, the Kia Sonet stands out as the subcompact SUV with the most advanced features and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology in India. Originally launched in 2020, the Sonet has been positioned as a premium SUV within the subcompact SUV segment. The facelift introduces a refreshed front profile, incorporating advanced features and enhanced safety components.

 

 

 

In the Indian market, the Kia Sonet facelift offers seven variants: HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X-LINE. While some variant prices were disclosed during the initial unveiling, the company has now revealed the prices for all versions. In comparison to the previous generation, the starting variant of the new Kia Sonet has seen a price increase of ₹20,000, while the top variant has seen an ₹80,000 increment. The revamped Kia Sonet boasts a distinctive and dynamic appearance, featuring a redesigned honeycomb pattern grille, new LED headlight setup with L-shaped LED DRLs, and a sleek fog light at the bottom. Additionally, the side profile showcases newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels, while the rear receives a redesigned bumper with a new LED taillight unit and stop lamp mount. Most of the external alterations are concentrated in the facelifted Sonet.

 

 

 

While the cabin of the new-generation Sonet maintains similarities with its predecessor, notable changes include a newly designed integrated touchscreen infotainment system, a revised climate control panel, ample storage spaces, and premium leather seats.

 

 

 

The facelifted Kia Sonet boasts an impressive array of features, such as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with multiple color options, ventilated seats, height-adjustable driver seat, six-way power-adjustable driver seat, wireless charging, and a USB charging socket for rear passengers. The sound system has also been upgraded for an enhanced audio experience.

 

 

 

In terms of safety, the Sonet facelift is equipped with level one ADAS technology, incorporating 10 advanced safety features to mitigate the risk of accidents. Features include departure from line warning, lane return, cruise control, automatic emergency braking, high beam assist, real cross-traffic alert, and more. Standard safety features encompass six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, hill-hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

 

 

 

Under the hood, Kia Motors has retained the existing engine options to power the Sonet facelift. This 2024 model competes with other popular subcompact SUVs in the Indian market, including Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Maruti
