Kids Festival: Pune Bal Mahotsav 2025 Begins at Sarasbagh, PMC Launches ‘Less Screens, More Play’ Campaign
Pune, 12th December 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday inaugurated the fourth edition of the Pune Bal Mahotsav (Pune Kids Festival) at Sarasbagh. The event was launched at 10:30 am by Additional Municipal Commissioner Pawneet Kaur (IAS), Sahitya Akademi award-winning children’s literature author Rajiv Tambe and actress Mrinmayee Deshpande.
The annual festival attracts more than 1.5 lakh parents and children from across the city, offering a range of activities designed for parents, newborns and toddlers. This year’s theme, “Less Screens, More Play,” highlights the importance of reducing screen time and promoting physical activity among young children. Officials said the festival also places a special emphasis on the physical and mental well-being of parents, an aspect often overlooked despite its influence on a child’s early development.
PMC officials said the primary aim of the event is to spread awareness about the significance of early childhood care between the ages of 0 and 6 years, and to help parents understand how to nurture different aspects of their child’s growth.

The Pune Bal Mahotsav will run from December 11 to 14 at Sarasbagh, between 10 am and 6 pm daily.
The PMC has urged parents to download the PMC CARE app to register for Balotsav 2025 and to access official information, government services and updates on civic initiatives.
