Krida Kumbh 2026 Concludes at Savitribai Phule Pune University
Pune, 7th March 2026: The closing ceremony of Krida Kumbh 2026, a sports competition organised by Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), was held in the presence of faculty members, students and invited guests, marking the culmination of several days of sporting events and competitions.
Dr. Vilas Adhav, Director of the School of Education at SPPU, addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of participants and organisers in making the event successful.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Adhav said the competition reflected the university’s commitment to promoting physical education and encouraging a spirit of excellence among students. “Over the past few days, we have witnessed remarkable displays of sportsmanship, teamwork and dedication. Krida Kumbh 2026 reflects the enthusiasm and camaraderie that define the spirit of our university,” he said.
He congratulated the winners of the various competitions and commended all participants for their perseverance and active involvement in the event.

Dr. Adhav also acknowledged the efforts of the organising committee, including faculty members, staff and student volunteers, who worked to ensure the smooth conduct of the sports festival.
Among those present on the occasion were Prof. Dr. Aditya Abhyankar, Head of the Department of Technology; Prof. Dr. Karishma Pardeshi, Head of the Department of Microbiology; Dr. Savita Kulkarni, Director of the Student Development Board; Dr. Vishnu Petkar, Head of the Department of Sports and Physical Education; Dr. Suman Pandey; Dr. Abhijit Kadam; Dr. Dadasaheb Dhengale; and Assistant Deepak Gole.
Officials said that the conclusion of Krida Kumbh 2026 highlighted the importance of teamwork, discipline and resilience—values that are integral to the ethos of Savitribai Phule Pune University. The organisers expressed hope that the spirit of sportsmanship demonstrated during the competition would continue to inspire students in the future.
