Pune, 6th July 2023: The land acquisition process for the ambitious ring road project, led by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), has commenced in Pune. The district administration has initiated the issuance of notices to the affected individuals for land acquisition.

In a recent announcement, the district administration emphasized that an additional 25 percent compensation would be provided to those who willingly offer their land for acquisition.

The ring road project, spanning a length of 172 kilometers and measuring 110 meters wide, aims to ease traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad cities. It is divided into two parts: East and West. The eastern part encompasses 11 villages in Maval, 12 in Khed, 15 in Haveli, five in Purandar, and three in Bhor. The western part includes five villages in Bhor, 11 in Haveli, 15 in Mulshi, and six in Maval.

A total of 695 hectares of land will be acquired for the project. The evaluation process for the lands has been successfully completed, with Maval and Mulshi talukas taking the lead. The valuation of lands in the 26 villages of these talukas has been determined, considering the property owners. Additionally, separate valuations have been assigned to minimize losses for farmers affected by the acquisition. As a result, all the necessary procedures for initiating land acquisition in these talukas have been finalized.

Upon receiving the land acquisition notice, it has been specified that individuals who voluntarily offer their land will receive an additional 25 percent compensation. The district administration has urged builders to provide their consent within the designated time frame. Following the completion of the land acquisition process, actual construction work on the western region of the ring road will commence.

In the western region, the process of land acquisition for the ring road project is now underway. Notices have been issued to affected farmers, marking the beginning of this crucial phase.
