Pune, 3rd July 2021: Happiness means different things to different people. Yet, somehow its roots are always deeply connected to a happy coming-together of the mind, body and soul.

Swakaya, a wellness centre located in the heart of the city at Boat Club has opened its doors to Puneites today. The centre offers Pet Therapy and Holistic Alternative Healing Solutions. This is perhaps the largest single centre in the city which has cats, dogs and rabbits playing the role of furry healers!

This unique centre is what Lipi Khemka, the Founder-Director of Swakaya, believes is her ‘soul calling’. She offers various therapies and healing solutions to right up the positive balance of Life.

Since it’s a well-accepted theory that caring pets heal the lives of people, it is no wonder then that animal-assisted therapy is a growing field. The furry pets help people recover from or better cope with health problems, such as heart disease, depression, cancer and mental health disorders. Interacting with a friendly pet can help many physical and mental issues. It can help reduce blood pressure and improve overall cardiovascular health. It can also release endorphins that produce a calming effect. This can help alleviate pain, reduce stress, and improve your overall psychological state, she says.

“At this centre, we have 7 dogs, 8-10 cats and 7 rabbits to help assist patients and the centre has tied up with Animal Angels to assist it with the same. All the animals are trained to help human beings and they go through a year’s training before being introduced to assist patients”, Khemka informed.

The treatments can be offered to children, teenagers and senior citizens and our sessions start from Rs 400 per hour.

Lipi’s passion for creating a place where ‘no questions go unanswered and where health is a pivotal priority led to the birth of Swakaya, a centre where the benefits she reaped will touch many other lives.

Speaking about the future, she said, “Plans include first tying up with schools once the pandemic is over and introducing children to the world of animals. Then tying up with hospitals to help offer treatments to terminally ill patients will also be considered.”

“This fundamental harmony of elements is something that everyone should have access to, and I was determined to bring it to a platform that would be welcoming to all!” says Lipi Khemka, the Founder Director of Swakaya.

Lipi firmly believes that this comprehensive healing of the body, mind and soul shouldn’t ever be a luxury that one cannot afford. Lipi Khemka considers herself a regular modern social woman, balancing her home and work with ease! And yet, she had to face adversities head-on. She faced various life-altering challenges throughout her journey when she experienced the incredible power of alternative healing therapies and all-encompassing treatment options while aiming to find balance.

Soul Therapist Nandini will bring her 20 years of expertise to guide the journey of souls in need of positive balance. The concept of Soul Healing is simply an amalgamation of a bouquet of alternative healing techniques, that will act as a radar for every individual to find positive balance in life. The Soul therapist will be using meditative and healing tools to iron out life’s repetitive patterns and karmic clearance in relationships, circumstances and choices in one’s destiny. Matters related to love, soul mates, finances, children, illnesses, quests of finding life purpose, and emotional well being will be counselled.

Swakaya, the wellness centre, is based in a beautiful 7,500 sq ft setup at Boat Club Road. It intends to put together the essence of natural healing techniques, ancient therapies and modern alternative healing initiatives. This centre is open to all Puneites to experience it.
