Pune: ‘PMRDA Should Not Sell Amenity Spaces In Newly Merged 23 Villages’

Pune, 3rd July 2021: “Aaple Pune” organisation has said that Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has no right to sell the land at the newly merged 23 villages. Since these villages have been merged with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), PMRDA has no right to sell the amenity space.
Ujjwal Keskar and Suhas Kulkarni through a letter demanded that PMC should take the decision regarding the sale of these spaces. Technically, now these plots no longer belong to PMRDA, thus they have no right regarding the sale of these spaces. Till the Development Plan (DP) does not get approval, it would be illegal to sell these spaces.
“According to section 34 of Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act, it is the responsibility of PMC to make the DP. Thus, PMRDA should immediately transfer the rights to PMC”, demanded Keskar and Kulkarni.
