Lohegaon, Viman Nagar, Kalyani Nagar, Kharadi emerge as new COVID-19 hotspot

Pune, July 6, 2020: Fearing that the Nagar Road zone might soon become Coronavirus lockdown, the administration has appealed to the citizens to stay indoors as much as possible to prevent the spread of infection. The number of COVID-19 positive patients in Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Kalyani Nagar, Vadgaon Sheri, Lohegaon has been rising everyday.

The number of patients in the four wards in Nagar Road area had reached 656 by Sunday. While 357 have been discharged, 19 have died, and 280 are undergoing treatment at hospitals.

Jaiprakashnagar, Gandhinagar areas in the area have more number of patients. The number of patients in Somnathmala, Thitevasti, Kharadkar Park, Khandobamala, Kopar Ali, Khandave Nagar, Santnagar, Patharevasti in Lohegaon, and Kalyani Nagar, Vadgaon Sheri has been increasing everyday. In March, the first patient was found in Kalyani Nagar.

The administration has also pointed out that many people are found roaming without masks, without following any norms of social distancing. The administration has appealed to the people not to leave homes unless it is necessary, and follow all the rules.
