Lonavala: Authorities Request Tourists To Wear Masks, Practice Covid-Appropriate Behaviour
Lonavala, 26th December 2022: The Lonavala municipal council has urged residents to wear masks, exercise social distancing, and use hand sanitiser frequently since Lonavala is experiencing a significant influx of tourists over the holiday season.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Lonavala Municipal Council, Pandit Patil, stated, “We must use caution when visiting tourist destinations because corona instances are rising in nations like China. Priority should be given to wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and using hand sanitiser. Even locals should cover their faces.”
The majority of Lonavala’s hotels are fully booked as many tourists from Mumbai and Pune prefer to spend their vacations in the mountainous regions. The police has also boosted the number of checkpoints in the city to prevent unpleasant situations. Wherever tourists gather in large numbers, Satyasai Karthik, the sub-divisional police officer of Lonavala, stated, “We would increase the check posts, so people don’t get involved in any unfavourable incident. We also urge individuals not to drive after drinking.”
