Mumbai, 20th June 2025: The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has announced an additional CET for BBA, BCA, BBM, and BMS courses, scheduled to be held on July 19 and 20. The decision comes in response to a poor turnout in the initial exam, raising concerns about unfilled seats across Maharashtra.
A total of 25,500 students have registered for this supplementary exam, following an extended application window from June 12 to 20. The move was initiated by the Higher and Technical Education Department to boost admissions for these professional undergraduate courses.
Earlier this year, the regular CET was conducted on April 29 and 30, with 72,259 students registering. However, only 61,666 candidates appeared, leaving a significant gap in demand. With over one lakh seats available in these courses, authorities feared a large number of vacancies, prompting the additional CET.
The upcoming exam will be conducted online, with the same syllabus, format, and percentile-based scoring system as the previous test. The admit cards will soon be released on the official portal mhacet.org, where students can access their exam date, time, and center details through their login credentials.
Students and parents are advised to regularly check the official website for updates and instructions related to the exam.
This additional CET aims to ensure wider participation and optimal seat utilization in BBA, BCA, BBM, and BMS programs across the state.
