Maharashtra CM May Announce Complete Lockdown: Health Minister Rajesh Tope

Mumbai, 20 April 2021: Complete lockdown will be imposed in Maharashtra. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will announce  after 8 pm tomorrow, informed  Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

He said, “We have appealed to the Chief Minister for complete lockdown. All ministers have requested this from the Chief Minister. Now the Chief Minister has to take a decision.”

Minister Aslam Sheikh said that this decision has been taken due to lack of medical oxygen. Guidelines will be released soon for this. Sheikh said, “Maharashtra is moving towards complete lockdown due to lack of medical oxygen.”

Maharashtra government has imposed Section 144 till May 1 and prohibits all non-essential activities and services under the Break the Chain campaign. Today, the government has made a change in the Covid Guidelines, saying that now grocery and other essential commodities shops will be opened for only 4 hours from 7 am to 11 am.
