Maharashtra: Coronavirus positive patients in state cross 2,00,000 mark

Mumbai, July 5, 2020: A total of 3395 patients were discharged while 7074 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra yesterday. Yesterday, 295 COVID-19 deaths reported in the state, Out of these, 124 deaths occurred in the last 48 hours and rest 171 are from the previous period. The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 2,00,064 informed State Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

According to the health department, 1,08,082 patients have been cured while the Case fatality rate in the state is 4.33%. As of yesterday, there are 83,295 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 54.02% while the fatality rate in the state is 4.33%. Currently, 5,96,038 people are in home quarantine and 41,566 people are in institutional quarantine.

Out of the 295 deaths reported in the state yesterday, 124 occurred in last 48 hours. Out of the rest 171 deaths, 163 deaths in Thane district are from the period April to June 2020. are from the previous period. These 171 include 70 in Thane Municipal Corporation, 15 in Thane, 33 in Navi Mumbai, 32 in Kalyan-Dombivali, 8 in Ulhasnagar, 5 in Bhivandi, 2 in Mira-Bhayandar, 2 in PimpriChinchwad, 3 in Solapur and 1 in Latur

Out of 10,80,975 laboratory samples, 2,00,064 have been tested positive (18.51%) for COVID-19 until yesterday.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 6,73,225 across the country. Out of this, 409,082 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 19,268 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 244,874 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
