Pune, February 24, 2021: The Maharashtra state secondary and higher secondary education board have clarified that the SSC and HSC board exams will be held in offline mode. This year around 35 lakh students are appearing for the exam, and it is not possible to hold an online exam for such a huge number of students, therefore we have decided to hold the offline exam, said Dinkar Patil, chairman of the state board.

The board recently declared a timetable for HSC and SSC board exam. The SSC board exam will be held between 29th April to 20th May 2021, while the HSC board exam will be held between 23rd April to 21st May 2021.

Patil said, “There are demands for extension of the exam. Many people are also demanding to hold the exam online, but two months are remaining for the exam and there is no need to further extend the exam dates. We have decided to hold offline exams. Students should focus on their studies instead of wasting time thinking about how the exam will be held. If the number of cases increases in the future, we will take a decision after reviewing the situation at that time.”
