Maharashtra Elections 2024: Tingre vs MVA Leaders in Legal Showdown Over Porsche Car Accident Allegations
Pune, 11th November 2024: Vadgaonsheri MLA and Mahayuti candidate Sunil Tingre has found himself at the center of controversy, accused of protecting a minor involved in a high-profile Porsche car accident in Kalyani Nagar. The allegations suggest that instead of attending to the victims of the accident, MLA Tingre visited the police station and allegedly pressured officers to shield the minor accused.
Tingre, who is contesting in the upcoming assembly elections under the NCP (Ajit Pawar) banner, is now facing increased scrutiny as the opposition seizes upon the incident in their election campaigns. Despite denying involvement, Tingre has been dragged into the spotlight, with his political opponents using the case to damage his reputation ahead of the polls.
In response, Tingre has issued a legal notice to key leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, including NCP chief Sharad Pawar, MP Supriya Sule, and Surendra Pathare, the son of his political rival, Bapu Pathare, from Vadgaon Sheri. Tingre has warned that if these leaders continue to defame him by linking him to the Porsche case, he will take legal action.
Notably, this notice has also been served to Sharad Pawar. At a recent campaign rally for Vadgaonsheri MVA candidate Bapu Pathare, MP Sule addressed the situation, saying, “Sharad Pawar was never afraid of an Enforcement Directorate (ED) notice, why would he fear yours?” The remark added fuel to the ongoing discussions surrounding Tingre’s legal notice.
The lawyer’s notice names prominent figures from the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction), and Congress, accusing them of spreading misinformation about Tingre’s role in the Porsche accident. Copies of this legal notice have circulated widely on social media, further intensifying the debate as the elections draw nearer.
As the election campaign heats up, this issue is expected to remain in the spotlight, with both sides preparing for further legal and political confrontations.
