Yerwada, 11th November 2024: A late-night firecracker disturbance at Cerebrum IT Park in Kalyani Nagar has prompted swift action by the Yerwada Police Station, Pune City Police. The incident, which occurred around 3 a.m. on November 2, 2024, involved an employee of AM Infoweb, a company operating at the IT Park, who allegedly set off firecrackers near the D-Mart lane area, causing alarm among residents and posing a serious fire safety risk.
Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN), a local citizens’ group, reported the incident to authorities, raising concerns about the potential hazards posed by individuals bringing firecrackers into the building, bypassing security measures. According to TSKN, this posed a significant threat not only to the building’s occupants but also to nearby residents.
Assistant Police Inspector Mahesh Lamkhade, in a letter to TSKN dated November 9, 2024, confirmed that a warning had been issued to the individual involved in the disturbance, and AM Infoweb had been cautioned about the future possession or use of firecrackers on its premises. “We have issued a written warning to the director of AM Infoweb against the storage or bursting of firecrackers beyond permissible limits. Additionally, we have asked them to take action against the erring employee,” said API Lamkhade in the letter.
The Yerwada Police have expressed strong support for the residents, taking a zero-tolerance stance on any actions that compromise public safety or disturb the peace. “This proactive approach underscores the importance of upholding law and order within the community,” said a member from TSKN.
