Pune, 22nd October 2021: The Maharashtra State Government will launch a special vaccination campaign exclusively for students from 25th October to 2nd November 2021 with an objective to get all the college attending students vaccinated before the Diwali break.

Mission Yuva Swasth Abhiyaan is jointly organized by the health department and the higher and technical education department.

“I had a brief meeting with the health minister Rajesh tope, environmental minister Aditya Thackeray regarding special focus on getting all the students vaccinated, who will attend regular college after the Diwali break”, said higher and technical education Uday Samant at a function at College of Engineering Pune (COEP) Pune.

Samant further appealed to the students to get vaccinated as fast as possible and attend regular classes. “Students themselves should demand offline exam, which would be in their interests”, he further said regarding the confusion over online-offline examinations in Maharashtra.

Frontline covid warriors which included students were felicitated for their exceptional work during the first wave and second wave by the minister.

On Thursday, health minister Rajesh Tope said there are roughly 5,000 colleges under the department which include polytechnics, ITIs, professional colleges, and other affiliated institutions, and cover nearly 40 lakh students who are over 18 years old.

“We have asked all principals for a list of students who are yet to be vaccinated. The health department in turn will make doses available for the drive,” said Tope.
