Maharashtra Minister Meghna Bordikar Urges Pune Officials to Use New Technology for Better Governance

Pune, 9th May 2025: Maharashtra Minister of State Meghna Bordikar called on all departments in Pune district to actively adopt new technology and update their operations as part of the state’s ambitious 150-day action plan focused on e-governance and improved public services. Speaking at a district-level review meeting, Bordikar emphasized, “Every department must modernize its website and resolve citizens’ issues efficiently. The use of technology is essential to make people’s lives easier.”
The meeting, attended by officials from public health, water supply, sanitation, energy, women and child development, and public works, highlighted the state government’s push for administrative reforms following the successful 100-day programme. Bordikar instructed departments to launch public awareness campaigns on waste and plastic management, involve local leaders and NGOs at the village level, and ensure strict action against illegal gender determination at sonography centers.
She also directed that all anganwadis in the district have kitchen gardens and that Pune should aim to lead in implementing government schemes and recruitment processes. Bordikar stressed the importance of delivering accurate and timely information to citizens and called for 100 % implementation of all state schemes.
The state’s 150-day action plan, launched by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, aims to position Maharashtra as a leader in e-governance, service reforms, and long-term development, with departments evaluated on their performance and responsiveness to citizens’ needs.
