Maharashtra: MSRTC Introduces New App For Seamless Bus Ticket Reservation
Mumbai, 16th June 2023: In a significant breakthrough, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) came up with a solution to avoid the technical difficulties faced by passengers while booking an online ticket of ST. This move aims to provide a convenient and efficient ticket reservation system, eliminating all the technical glitches often encountered on the corporation’s website.
Under the current system, passengers frequently encounter issues during the online ticket booking process. Several instances of amounts being deducted from travellers’ accounts without seats being reserved have been reported, leaving passengers with no clue how to get the refund. Moreover, the unavailability of buses with reserved seats for ticket booking has posed a big inconvenience. Complaints regarding incorrect seat assignments after ticket purchases and frequent website closures during the booking process have further aggravated passengers dissatisfaction.
To address these challenges, Shekhar Channe, the vice president and managing director of the ST Corporation, announced the imminent launch of a dedicated mobile app. This app will provide passengers with a seamless ticket reservation experience, facilitating secure and hassle-free payments. In addition to accepting debit and credit cards, the app will also integrate popular digital payment platforms such as Google Pay, Paytm, and Amazon Pay, enabling passengers to choose their preferred payment method.
One of the key features of the new app is the ability for passengers to track the exact location of their reserved bus. This functionality eliminates the need for extensive waiting periods at bus stops, allowing passengers to plan their schedule accordingly. By leveraging a state-wide vehicle monitoring system, which will be implemented in approximately 11,000 buses, the app ensures real-time location updates for enhanced convenience and punctuality.
