Maharashtra: Multiple Families Feared Trapped After Landslide In Raigad, Rescue Underway
Raigad, 20th July 2023: In a tragic incident reported in Raigad, a major landslide occured at Irsalwadi village of Khalapur in Raigad district. The incident took place on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. According to reports, over 50 families are trapped and some casualties are also reported in the incident.
Two teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have rushed to the spot and local rescue teams have started the rescue operation. Ministers including Uday Samant immediately rushed to the spot after the incident.
The Raigad police have formed a temporary control room and an Assistant Police Inspector rank officer has been appointed to coordinate things.
According to officials, 25 people have been rescued so far while 4 deaths have been reported in the incident. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached the spot and has reviewed the situation.
