Maharashtra: Post Graduate Seats Increased In Government Medical Colleges
Mumbai, 23rd January 2022: Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh yesterday informed that the Department of Medical Education has decided to increase the admission capacity of students in medical colleges in the state.
According to the decision, the newly expanded college-wise admission capacity for the postgraduate course for the academic year 2021-22 is as follows.
At Topiwala National Medical College and Nair Charitable Hospital in Mumbai, intake capacity for the subject of D.M. Nephrology has been increased from 1 to 3. At Shri Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College in Yavatmal, there will be four seats for MD Anesthesiology.
At Swami Ramananda Teerth Rural Government Medical College, Ambajogai (Beed), MD General Medicines seats have been increased from three to six, while MS General Surgery seats have been increased from three to five, respectively.
MD Microbiology (3), MD Pathology (4), MD Pharmacology (3), MD Respiratory Medicine (2) courses have been started at Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Government Medical College, Kolhapur.
Apart from this, at the same medical college student capacity has been increased for MD Anesthesiology (4), MD Otorhinolaryngology (3), MD General Medicine (9), MS General Surgery (3), MS Obstetrics and Gynecology (3), MD BioChemistry (4) and MS Opthalmology (2).
The admission capacity of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Nagpur has been increased from 5 to 6 and from 4 to 6, respectively, for MD Radio-diagnosis and MD Paediatrics.
Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical College, Latur has been approved to start postgraduate courses in Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy.
BJ Government Medical College Pune will start a new course MD Emergency Medicine with 3 student admission capacity.
