Pune, 18th May 2024: Following an order from the Bombay High Court, the revised Right to Education (RTE) admission process began on Friday, with the Department of Education receiving over 39,000 applications by Saturday noon. The highest number of applications, approximately 9,000, came from Pune.

Parents are actively filling out the RTE online admission applications. The education department has set a deadline of May 31 for submitting applications.

This year’s admission process includes 1,02,428 seats in 9,139 English medium schools across the state. The website also provides details about the number of schools, available seats, and the number of students who have applied.

The education department anticipates around three to four lakh parents will apply for RTE admission this year, given the preference for English medium schools.
