Maharashtra: RTOs Will Conduct Special Campaign Against Unauthorised Vans For School Children

Mumbai, 28th July 2022: There are some regulations and rules set for vehicles carrying students. It is seen that lots of drivers are violating these rules. Regional Transport Office (RTO) today (July 28) issued a notice regarding the unauthorised vehicles transporting students such as school vans or non-compliance with school bus traffic regulations.

Through the notice, Abhay Deshpande, Deputy Commissioner of the Maharashtra transport department, has directed all RTOs to take strict action against vehicles carrying school students illegally and driving without a license or the provisions of the school bus regulations.

 

According to the order, strict actions should be conducted on vehicles which do not comply with the safety requirements of school bus regulations, vehicles without speed governors, vehicles violation of seating capacity, vehicles without a valid certificate, vehicles without valid insurance certificate, vehicles without attendants, vehicles without fire fighting system. should be included.

 

To take action against unauthorised school vans and vehicles falling under the above restrictions, RTO stated that a special inspection campaign should be conducted from July 26 to July 31. The action report of the said campaign should be filled in the attached google sheet daily as per the mentioned date.
