Pune: Girl Duped Of Rs 25 Lakh By Man She Met On Matrimonial Website, Later He Got Married To Another Girl
Pune, 28th July 2022: A 28-year-old girl was lured with the promise of marriage by a young man who met her on a matrimonial site, Shaadi.com, and established physical relations with her.
Based on the complaint lodged by the concerned girl, the Chandannagar Police station under Pune city police has arrested the accused Shantanu Balasaheb Mahajan (28), a resident of Kharadi, Pune.
Accused Mahajan registered on the matrimony site and got acquainted with this young woman. He then lured her into marriage under the pretence of friendship. After gaining trust, he had physical relations.
He then downloaded different apps on the girl’s phone in her name. He then took loans and money nearly Rs 25 lakh from time to time from those apps and cheated on her by marrying another girl.
