Pune, 25th June 2022: It has been alleged that after the mutiny in Shiv Sena, the Thackeray government took a big decision and removed the security of the 38 rebel MLAs. Upon this, the leader of the rebel group Eknath Shinde has written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil and the police department expressing his anger.

Giving a list of 38 MLAs, he said that the security of these MLAs and their families has been taken away. He also said that the government was responsible for their safety and he clarified their role by tweeting.

Shinde said, “By the order of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister, the protection of Shiv Sena MLAs has been withdrawn for political reasons. The government has a responsibility to protect them and their families. Shiv Sena was being emasculated in the same manner. In the last two and a half years, Shiv Sena has been and is being embezzled in the same manner by the constituent parties of MVA.”

The letter sent by Eknath Shinde further alleged, “We are the existing MLAs, but the security provided to us and our families as per protocol has been illegally removed. This is being done for political reasons. Using this, an attempt is being made to accept the demands of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), in which Congress and NCP goons are involved too. It is not up to us to decide which side we will play in politics. The reason we are protected is that our lives are in danger. The decision to provide security is not based on which side we are in politics. In any case, the threat that forced us to leave Maharashtra has now been proved by the actions of the leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi.”

The letter further states, “The security of our family is being compromised by removing the police protection. At the same time, Mavia leaders are inciting their party workers to attack us. Many things have come out about this in the media on June 23. According to Sanjay Raut, it will be difficult for MLAs leaving Maharashtra to come back to Maharashtra and travel within Maharashtra. The offices of two of our members were vandalized shortly after this statement and the removal of the security of the MLAs. This was the case in Punjab as well, where it was revealed that these people were targeted by goons after the removal of security. This will have the same effect on the security of MLAs in Maharashtra.”

The letter further said, “Protect us and our families with the respective protocol.”

The 38 MLAs from the Eknath Shinde group also demanded that security should be given to them and their families immediately as per the protocol. He also warned that in case of any injury to our family members, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, NCP President Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and Aditya Thackeray would be held responsible.
