Pune: State Excise Department Seizes Foreign Liquor Bottles Being Smuggled From Goa

Pune, 25th June 2022: The Maharashtra State Excise Department has seized foreign liquor of Indian origin which were being smuggled from Goa in a luxury bus.

The sleuths nabbed the smugglers with inventory worth Rs 80 lakhs on Thursday in front of Swami Narayan Temple at Ambegaon in Pune. The accused were unloading stock of foreign liquor and beer from a luxury bus and loading into an autorickshaw.

The State Excise Department has seized the bus and an autorickshaw and raided the house of accused Ravindra Gharge at Anjani Nagar in Katraj, where these stocks were to be kept.

The operation was carried out by a team of Inspector R.P. Shewale, S.L. Patil, T.B. Shinde, Deputy Inspector Chandrakant Raskar, Rajendra Jhol, Sanjay Rane, Prashant Dalvi, Ram Supekar and Amit Walekar.
