Maharashtra SSC Results: Pune Maintains Strong Performance with Over 94% Pass Rate

Pune, 13th May 2025: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education declared the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) results for the February–March 2025 session today, revealing an overall pass percentage of 94.10%. Once again, girls outperformed boys, with a pass percentage of 96.14% compared to 92.31% for boys, a difference of 3.83%.

Among the nine divisions, Konkan emerged as the top performer with a pass percentage of 98.82%, while Nagpur recorded the lowest at 90.78%.

A total of 16,10,908 students across the state registered for the Class 10 exams, of which 15,98,553 appeared and 14,87,399 passed. Compared to last year’s result of 95.81%, this year’s pass percentage has dropped by 1.71%, according to Board Chairman Sharad Gosavi.

Regular students alone accounted for 15,58,020 registrations, with 15,46,579 appearing and 14,55,433 passing, a pass rate of 94.10%. Private candidates recorded a pass rate of 80.36%, while repeaters had a significantly lower success rate at 39.44%. Among 9,673 registered students with disabilities, 8,844 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 92.27%.

In total, 7,924 schools achieved a 100% result out of the 23,489 schools that participated. The board conducted exams across 62 subjects, with 24 subjects seeing a 100% success rate. Notably, 211 students across the state scored a perfect 100%, with the highest number, 113, from the Latur division.

Division-wise, Kolhapur followed Konkan with a pass percentage of 96.87%, Mumbai stood at 95.84%, Pune at 94.81%, Nashik at 93.04%, Amravati at 92.95%, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar at 92.82%, Latur at 92.77%, and Nagpur at the bottom with 90.78%.

As per board data, 285 students passed with the minimum passing score of 35%, with Mumbai (67) and Nagpur (63) accounting for the majority of these marginal passes. Interestingly, Konkan reported no students in this category.
