Maharashtra State Examination Council Released NMMS Scholarship Selection List; 11682 Scholarship Slots Allocated to Maharashtra
Pune, 3 April 2025: The Maharashtra State Examination Council has announced the final list of students eligible for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS). For the year 2025, the Union Ministry of Education has allocated 11,682 scholarship slots for Maharashtra.
According to Commissioner Anuradha Oak, this scholarship exam has been conducted annually since 2007-08. The latest exam took place on December 22, with 2,48,758 students appearing.
After the announcement of the provisional scores on February 7, students were given time until February 18 to submit corrections regarding caste, disability status, and birthdate through an online process.
Taking these corrections into account, the final list of eligible students was published on Wednesday (March 2). The selection process follows the state’s reservation policy, and the scholarship quota is district-wise, considering the number of students in Grades 7 and 8 and the population of children aged 12 to 14 years.
This scheme aims to support talented students from economically weaker backgrounds by funding their education up to Grade 12. Selected students will receive a monthly stipend of ₹1,000 (₹12,000 annually) for four years (Grades 9-12).
