Pune, November 16, 2020: After receiving flak from all quarters of society regarding the re-opening of the schools from November 23, Maharashtra state education minister Varsha Gaikwad has asked the parents from the state to send in their suggestions and objections.

The state government has allowed the schools from standard 9th to 12 to be re-opened from November 23. But the parents were divided over the decision as few were wary of sending their ward to the schools while a few were ready to send.

“Amid the pandemic, our teachers have strived to keep education on track for our children. But a blended approach to education is needed to ensure that the last child receives education. So calling on all schools, teachers, students & parents to come forward with any suggestions or opinions regarding re-opening of schools”, the minister has tweeted.

Meanwhile, parents union co-ordinator Mukund Kirdat said, “the state should strengthen the online education system, ensure that the mid-day meal reaches the homes of the children. While using D.Ed and B.ed candidates, a parallel education system should be created.”
