Maharashtra: Uddhav Thackeray government never put any pressure – DGP Subodh Jaiswal

Mumbai, January 8, 2021: DGP Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, who retired from the post of DGP of Maharashtra, has said that during his tenure the state government did not put any pressure on him. He thanked the entire police force for such support.
Subodh said, ‘The last whole year was plagued by Covid-19. I think our force did a great job during this time. We made a lot of improvements at the time of operations. I think my successors will also do.’
When the DGP was asked whether the state government had any pressure on him, he replied that during his tenure, the state government did not pressurize him. The DGP further said, ‘Transfer is the routine process here, now I am going to fulfill the second responsibility given by the central government. And I will try my best to fulfill it. During the state government, I had no problem of any kind.’
The current senior IPS officer Hemant Nagrale has been given additional charge of Director General of Police (Maharashtra). This appointment has been made while Subodh Kumar Jaiswal is being made the new DG of CISF.
Jaiswal further said, “I am honored by this appointment. Maharashtra police face substantial challenges like terrorists and Naxalites. We have to prepare our force in such a way that it can deal with every such problem. And every such problem can be answered fast. I am sure all policemen will strengthen the force.”
