Pune, 6th July 2026: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appealed to citizens to avoid non-essential travel on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway after a major landslide at the Missing Link project site disrupted traffic. He said the administration is working on a war footing to clear the debris and restore normal traffic movement.

According to the Chief Minister, nearly 100 tonnes of debris had accumulated at the landslide site. He noted that the incident occurred in a section where such landslides had not been reported previously. So far, around 70 tonnes of debris have been removed, while work to clear the remaining debris is progressing rapidly.

Fadnavis said all three lanes on the Pune-bound carriageway have been reopened for traffic. On the Mumbai-bound carriageway, vehicles are currently moving through a single lane. He added that authorities are making efforts to restore additional lanes within the next one and a half hours.

Public Works Minister Shivendraraje Bhosale is present at the site to monitor the restoration work. Officials from the Public Works Department, along with other government agencies and emergency response teams, are coordinating efforts to remove the debris and restore traffic at the earliest.

The Chief Minister urged motorists to follow the instructions issued by the administration, adhere to traffic police advisories, avoid unnecessary travel on the Mumbai–Pune route, and rely only on official updates for accurate information.
