Maharshtra to give more importance to the renewable power

Mumbai, 23 July,2020 : The Maharashtra state would seek more clean energy and would clear renewable power projects with an aim to protect the nature and the earth from global warming said State Energy Minister Dr Nitin Raut today during a video conference with Indo French Chamber of Commerce.

He said the state would implement solar power projects with an aim to reduce it’s dependency on thermal power. Single Window clearance would be given to projects for its timely completion.

The infertile land would be made available for solar power projects. The government land which is laying without cultivation would be made available under green energy programmes. Land which belongs to state owned power companies and also private one would be also made available for the solar power projects. The proposals thus submitted would be cleared in time through single window system, he added.

The high power committee would study solar power projects in Rajasthan and Gujarat while framing it’s solar power policy. Earlier Dr Raut had asked the Mahagenco to implement the mega solar power projects in the state to reduce it’s dependency on conventional energy.

Officials from Mumbai based French Consulate including Consulate General Sonia Barbry and Nuclear Counsellor Thomas Mieusset joined the video conferencing along with Chairman and Managing Director of Mahagenco Shaila A and Chairman and Managing Director of Mahatransco Dinesh Waghmare at Mantralaya.
