Mahatma Gandhi’s Great Grandson To File Defamation Complaint Against Sambhaji Bhide In Pune
Pune 10th August 2023: The great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi Tushar Gandhi has said that he will file a criminal defamation case against hindutva leader Sambhaji Bhide for his objectionable remarks against Mahatma Gandhi. Tushar Gandhi said that he will file a complaint at Pune.
“On my way to Pune. Will file a criminal defamation complaint against the PM’s ‘Revered Guruji’ Bhide at the Deccan Police Station at noon today. Will not take slander against my ancestors without seeking legal redress” Tushar Gandhi tweeted. According to reports, he will meet a lawyer in Pune and with his help a criminal defamation complaint will be filed at the Deccan police station.
It may be noted that hindutva leader Sambhaji Bhide was booked following his comment on the lineage of Mahatma Gandhi at an event in Amravati last month. The controversial statement sparked controversy all across the state leading to protests against Bhide at various places. A Pune trust has also moved a PIL seeking guidelines from the court to avoid people from making such statements.
